A man who knows no barriers

Mark Esho contracted polio at the age of five. But it didn’t stop him starting and building a successful business. In this inspiring film, he talks – as an employer and entrepreneur – about the qualities that disabled people bring as employees.

If you would like to hear more about Mark’s story, it is worth listening to this interview (fast forward to begin it after 4:00 minutes).

Mark Esho’s encouragement to other employers is to be open-minded and not to be afraid, as there are many forms of grants and support available for employers. The Small Business Recruitment Service will provide guidance for employers on the recruitment of disabled people, particularly on initiatives such as the Work Choice programme.

The New Enterprise Allowance aims to help disabled people who want to start their own business.
