Minimum wage rate increases on 1 October 2014

The new National Minimum Wage (NMW) rates come into force from 1 October 2014. All age groups, including apprentices, will be paid more.

The new rates are:
21 and over: £6.50
18-20: £5.13
Under 18: £3.79
Apprentice: £2.73

The National Minimum Wage is the minimum pay per hour almost all workers are entitled to by law.

It doesn’t matter how small an employer is, they still have to pay the minimum wage.
